Katherine Hartmann
Events Chair
Dr. Katherine Hartmann is a Research Track Radiology Resident Physician at the University of Pennsylvania. She obtained her MD and PhD as part of the Medical Scientist Training Program at The Ohio State University. Her PhD work focused on genetic risk for coronary artery disease, partnering with a mathematician, Michal Seweryn, to try and understand how interactions between genetic variants contribute to disease heritability. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship as a Fulbright Scholar at the European Organisation for the Research and Treatment of Cancer in Brussels where she worked on incorporating molecular markers and big data in clinical trial work. Once immersed in clinical medicine, she quickly found radiology and was thrilled to match at University of Pennsylvania. As a radiology resident, she is enjoying thinking about how imaging can be used to better design and study genetic risk of disease. Β
Bianca Islam
